Electrolysis
Say goodbye to stubborn chin and facial hairs with Electrolysis, the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal. This advanced treatment safely destroys hair follicles using heat or chemical energy, ensuring long-lasting results for all hair colors and textures.
How Electrolysis Works
A fine, sterile needle is inserted into the hair follicle, delivering a controlled electric current to damage and disable the follicle, preventing future growth. This treatment can be performed on various areas of the body, with common targets including the chin, upper lip, and eyebrows.
Our Electrolysis Methods
At Brisbane Skin & Aesthetics we use the blend method, which combines two highly effective electrolysis techniques:
Galvanic Electrolysis – Uses direct current to produce a chemical reaction that destroys the hair follicle at its root.
Thermolysis – Delivers high-frequency energy, generating heat to coagulate the hair follicle’s blood supply and prevent regrowth.
Blend Electrolysis – Merges the best of both methods, offering the efficacy of galvanic electrolysis with the speed of thermolysis, making it ideal for deep, coarse hair follicles.
Why Choose Electrolysis?
Permanent hair removal, unlike laser hair removal, which only offers permanent hair reduction.
Works on all hair colors – including grey, blonde, and red, which laser treatments often struggle to treat.
Safe for all skin types – whether fair, dark, or sensitive.
Your Safety is Our Priority
At Brisbane Skin & Aesthetics, we maintain the highest hygiene standards. We use ONLY sterile, disposable needles, and all equipment is thoroughly sanitized before and after each procedure. Our experienced therapists will assess your needs and recommend the most suitable method for optimal results.

Electrolysis involves passing a direct electric current through a liquid electrolyte, causing a chemical reaction at the electrodes where ions are forced to either gain or lose electrons, resulting in the decomposition of the substance into its constituent elements; essentially, using electricity to split chemical compounds apart by driving a non-spontaneous reaction, requiring an electrolytic cell with electrodes (anode and cathode) and a power source to function.

You can usually expect to see results from electrolysis after several treatments, but it can take 6 months to a year to permanently remove hair in an area. The exact number of sessions depends on several factors, including the hair type, skin sensitivity, and cause of hair growth.

Avoid anti-inflammatory and blood-thinning medications for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment if possible. Medications and supplements like aspirin, vitamin E, green tea, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil, Ibuprofen, and NSAIDs can thin the blood, increasing the risk of bruising and swelling following anti-aging injections.
For the first 24 hours after your treatment, refrain from rubbing or massaging the injected area. It's also essential to avoid direct pressure on the area, such as sleeping on your face, face-down massages, extreme temperature changes, intense exercise, prolonged sun exposure, or excessive alcohol consumption during this time.Description text goes here
